Eight States Will Increase Minimum Wage January 1

Eight states will increase their minimum wage in 2012 due to indexing. The Employment Policies Institute (EPI) announced on November 29th that San Francisco, California will become the first in the country to raise the minimum wage above $10 an hour. For hourly jobs, the new wage rate in the city as of January 1, 2012 will be $10.24 an hour, a 32 cent increase from 2011. A full list of the states and their wage changes is available here:...
